I published my first website with geocities before it was riddled with advertising. I shared teen-angst-ridden poetry, short stories, and some of my innermost thoughts (blogs weren’t an option for that yet). It got redesigned often and every single version was ugly.
Fast forward to today.
Though I’m not always responsible for making a site work I spend my days trying to create and design the best possible experiences for its particular audience…be it marketing-driven, content-rich, or complicated form-intensive interactions, my goal is always to find that balance between the needs of the business, and the needs of the user. And while I’m at it, I try not to make it ugly.
